The Edison Herald Fountain Pen in Red & Black Ebonite.

I received my Herald today. It’s in red and black ebonite.I opted for the eyedropper model………filling by unscrewing the nib unit is a first for me.All the other Ed’s I have need to be filled by unscrewing the section from the barrel.Have filled it with FPN starry night. The bock nib writes like a dream………wet and juicy……..just the way I always wanted. This is my first Bock nib and I love its simple and minimalistic looks……………am not missing the engraving of the other nibs at all. 99% of the pens I use are ED fillers or have been converted to one.The Herald rates among the top.No leakage problem, has restarted without a break the few times I have put it down.I left it uncapped in a horizontal position for 15 minutes and it again started writing the instant I put it to paper. I will be leaving it capped and upright in a pen cup tonight………….will let you know its behaviour tomorrow morning, though from my experience with ED’s(mebbe around 50-60 pens) this one seems to be a winner on this front too. No blobs of ink/ink sputtering as shown by a few ED fillers. The finish is outstanding………….no need for anything more to be said.

Brian has provided outstanding service………….responded to all communication immediately……….even when he was on vacation. The packing couldn’t have been better.Reached India much much faster than some pens sent by other sellers who charged 2-3 times as Brian for S&H.

In conclusion…………..Brian rocks!!!!! thumbup.gif

Hi Fateh, I’m sending you a postcard soon. If you like putting your pens to good use, I also enjoy exchanging longer snail mail.

Congratulations on your beautiful pen. What sort of nib did you choose? I love the tortoise version of the Herald, just can’t afford it right now. I feel I’ve spent way too much on pens, and the first quarter of the year is just barely over!
